Belly Dance Master Class at Equity Point Marrakech

We’re always trying to please our guests and Marrakech is a very special place with a rich culture that is available to the visitors in many different ways. For that reason we offer dessert trips, Moroccan cuisine classes, spa sessions, and now: a Belly dance master class.

Our teacher, Jiham, is a great dancer and is willing to teach every of Equity Point Marrakech guests the sensual moves that have made belly dance famous all around the world.

The class lasts for 45 minutes, and when you finish there is tea and Moroccan pastries for all the pupils.

Celebrating the Olympic Games at Hyde Park

During the Olympic Games, Hyde Park is being the perfect spot to watch the Games with your friends. There are several big screens showing most of the sports and there are also other activities such as concerts, performances and a kid’s zone.

There will be a special Closing Ceremony Concert on Sunday August 12th with converts of Blur, New Order, The Specials and Bombay Bicycle Club. There will also be several Olympic athletes celebrating their success.

And remember, Equity Point London is 10 minutes walking distance from Hyde Park. But if you prefer to watch all the events at the hotel, every Equity Point is broadcasting the Olympic Games at the TV’s of the common areas so you can share the Olympic experience with people from all nationalities.

London Olympic Games 2012

Tonight the whole world will be watching the Inauguration of the London Olympic Games on the TV, and only some fortunate ones will be able to watch it live on the London Stadium. If you’re willing to go and live the amazing atmosphere of this unique event, remember Equity Point London is perfectly located near Paddington Station.

At London Olympic Games there will be 10.500 athletes competing for a medal in 26 different sports. Over 11 million of people will attend to the Games as public. And several millions more will watch all the different sports on TV.

Happy Gay Pride Day!

Today 43 years ago history changed and when the police got in to the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar, to arrest all the men just for being gay. For the first time, instead of running away, those men confronted the police so it was the police the one who had to run. The next days the riots were all over New York and it was the beginning of the gay movement as we know it.

Equity Point New York inauguration

Last week we were proud to inaugurate Equity Point New York Hostel. To such an important event we brought the group Castellers de Vilafranca to Manhattan. They built several Human Towers all over New York including one at our hostel at Times Square, as you can see in the video.

At the official event we heard the speeches of Artur Mas the President of Catalonia –-Equity Point Hostels homeland–; Mike Kelley, Independence Point President; and our CEO Oriol Badia.

Equity Point sponsors “Cassidy And The Orleans Kids” in Girona

Today starts the II Girona New Orleans Week, so during three days “Cassidy And The Orleans Kids” will be playing live in the city. Today and tomorrow they will be doing live concerts at La Rambla, while on June 15th they will do a special concert at Sunset Jazz Club.

Equity Point is proud to have “Cassidy And The Orleans Kids” as hosts at Equity Point Girona hostel for such an special occasion.

Festas de Lisboa 2012

During all June Lisbon will be celebrating the biggest city street parties with exhibitions, cinema, theater plays, concerts and whatever you may imagine. If you want to enjoy Lisbon on its biggest yearly time you only have to come to visit us at Equity Point Lisboa. We are really close to most of Festas de Lisboa events.

The biggest event will take place on June 12th. Lisbon gets crowded and the streets got full of sardines, bread and wine, and we will also cook our own sardines at Equity Point Lisboa. But there’s not only food, there’s also a competition between historical neighborhoods with “Marchas Populares”, so everybody prepares original costumes, music and dances.

Equity Point brings Castellers (Human Towers) to New York

We will officially inaugurate Equity Point New York Hostel in Times Square this June, even though it’s been opened since November. But by the end of the month it will be completely refurbished.

In the inauguration we will have the Castellers de Vilafranca (a Catalan Human Tower group) as our guests and they will perform some Human Towers in front of Equity Point New York, so everybody will be able to get there and watch them.

World’s oldest backpacker stops in Equity Point Madrid

Keith Wright is a 95 years old pensioner form Queensland in Australia that has become the oldest backpacker after being travelling independently for 10 years. He started his backpacking adventures after his wife passed away.

Keith in now on his eighth trip to Europe and has stopped at Equity Point Madrid to pay a visit to the Spanish capital. And in the meantime he has appeared on a picture with Equity Point’s Laia and Marisa. Isn’t he awesome?
