Buckingham Palace


Buckingham Palace is the official London residence of the British Royal Family since 1837. The palace is frequently used in official visits and ceremonies but Buckingham Palace is open to the public for 8 weeks each year in the summer. Our London Hostel it’s pretty close to the Palace so you can get there any time you want.

Buckingham Palace is a huge building with 775 rooms which include: 19 State rooms, 52 Royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices and 78 bathrooms. The Palace is the working place for the Queen and the Royal Family.

Buckingham Palace has one of the most important art collections in the world which includes art pieces from Rembrandt, Anton Van Dyck, Rubens and Vermeer among others.

But probably one of the most important tourist attractions of Buckingham Palace is the Changing Guard which takes place at 11:30 daily from May to July and on alternate days, when the weather allow it, the rest of the year.
