Westminster Palace was the Royal Palace until 1512 when a fire destroyed it, so now the royal Family lives at Buckingham Palace. Since then Westminster Palace has been used as a Parliament. The Palace has around 1100 rooms which include the famous two chambers of parliament: the House of Commons and the House of Lords.

If you stay with us at our London Hostel you should take a walk along the Thames and watch the famous view from across the river of Westminster Palace next to the Big Ben and Saint Margaret Church.

If you’re UK resident you can visit Westminster Place all through the year. You only need to arrange a place through your MP or a Lord. If you live overseas you will only be able to visit the Palace during the summer or on Saturdays. The tours last 75 minutes and it’s recommended to book them in advance.

To visit Westminster palace from our Hostel in London you should take the Circle line wand step down at Westminster. It takes less than 20 minutes. But if you want to see the worldwide famous view of the Palace across the river you’d better take the Bakerloo line and step down at Waterloo. It’s only 15 minutes from Equity Point London. If you walk to the London Eye you’ll be able to enjoy the most famous view of London. We recommend you to get there at sunrise, you’ll never forget it.
