Amongst a whole host of celebrations taking place this summer, here are a list of ones not to miss out on.
This summer sees Andy Warhol come to Prague (Jun14 – Dec13), The Prague Quadrennial – an International Competitive exhibition of scenography and an exhibition of Art Nouveau at the Municiple House.
Tim Burton and His World
This exhibition of Hollywood Director Tim Burton is on at The House at the Sone Bell in the old town. If you’re a fan then this exhibition is an insight into the creative mind that produced films such as Beatle Juice and Edward Scissor hands
Kicking off with Buddy Rich Bigband performance, The Proms take place over July at various locations – weather permitting some are open air. Find out about the programme an tickets here.
Prague New Dance Festival
This week long feel-good festival is the 19th year of celebrating dance in the capital. It is open to all amateur dancers and aims to showcase talent on the theatre stage for almost 8,000 dancers over the festival period. The organisers believe it to be a unique opportunity to experience the ‘magic of dance’ for the performers as well as the audience.

Bohemia Jazz Festival
Bohemia Jazz Fest 13-15th July
This annual event takes places all over the Czech Republic and for three days this July, showcasing international Jazz musicians from America and Europe. Don’t miss out seeing some of the performances in the Old Town Square – they’re free!
Prague Folklore Days
Prague Folklore Days 23rd-26th July
This is a great way to see traditional Czech culture as they celebrate with the biggest folk dance even in Europe! The festival is open to singers, musicians and dancers and all ensembles parade throughout the city centre and take part in two open air performances.
The Shakespeare Festival
There is also a programme of theatre, opera and cinematic events, including the Summer Shakespeare Festival until 3rd September and the Summer Letna (Letni Letna) or Festival of Contemporary Circus and Theatre from 17th August until 2nd September.
