This free festivals means that every Saturday and Sunday for the entire summer you can enjoy sunset music shows around the city, from public gardens and famous sites including museums and galleries to chilled public squares and gardens. This is the 32nd edition of this festival and comprises a series of concerts outside at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. The event starts with an opening concert from the Fire! orchestra, includes performances from Swedish Azz and is highlighted by iconic performances celebrating the 50th anniversary of the AACM of Chicago.
This music festival takes place in Oeiras near Lisbon, and includes performances from iconic musicians such as Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Mark Knopfler, Antonio Zambujo, Melody Gardot and Lionel Richie. Performances take place in Parque dos Poetas (The Poets Park) and the landscaped gardens of Jardins Marques de Pombal.
This 2 week long traditional medieval market runs from Thursdays to Sundays and is a unique step into the past. There is a lot of dressing up and fighting with real swords, and they also have medieval food! All in the setting of the scenic town of Obidos near Lisbon.
This free festival takes place at the beach town of Cascais near to Lisbon. There are performances from local and international musicians, lots of delicious Portuguese food, various handicrafts to buy and a big firework display at the end.

MOTELx – International Horror Film Festival – 9-13th September
“Where horror is welcome…”The MOTELx is a 5 day festival screening a selection of horror movies and its sub genres. Frightening fans since 2007, this annual festival showcases the most terrifying new horror movies, including short films and Portuguese movies, and encourages young film makers with its competition awards.
