London’s best rooftop bars for summer time
You can pick between historic pubs and fancy roof top terraces – here are some recommendations on how to make the best of British Summertime.
Roof Tops around Town
There are plenty of fancy hotels with great views but they’re not always the most budget friendly options. If you have the cash to splash then trip Notch, Aqua, Radio Rooftop Bar, Skylounge or London Sky Bar. If you’re looking for a more budget friendly and down to earth version then try some of our local favourites.
Frank’s Cafe is a converted Peckham multi-storey carpark! Yes, really. On a hot day be prepared to queue at this South London venue as this place has become seriously popular with local hipsters for a sunset cocktail and snazzy food menu. They also have some good quality music, DJs and BBQs too! Enjoy the view!
Over to West London and Hammersmith’s Lyric theater. This is the best roof terrace around as the lush decking and plants provide an oasis of calm in this busy part of town. There are plenty of people here seeing performances at the theater downstairs but the bar is open to everyone all year long!
The rooftop bar at Big Chill House is open for summer with live DJs and plenty of snack food at their pop up shack. Check out their brunch menu for good value day drinking and enjoy the view of King’s Cross.
Joyfully Dinerama isn’t just another trendy east London bar (or strictly a roof as it’s suspended up high) but it’s also a great place to try street food from pizza to lobster (yes, that’s right) and there are 10 bars serving everything you could ask for. There’s also a roof for rainy days – excellent!
In trendy East London lies the neighbourhood favourite, Dalston Roof Park. Not only are there DJs and events, there are also sunset screenings and yoga and picnic sessions. What’s not to love? This is a great place to meet the community also, and all member profits go to charity.
